Bonnets are a staple in our everyday lives and it was important that we designed them & all of our products to not only be functional, but to also make us look and feel good when wearing them.
All of our products start with a custom in-house design created by Black Women that is then produced and tested to ensure that it:

Meet The founder
I started The Bon Don as a mere passion project dedicated to Black Women.
I was inspired to create the company after a series of failed attempts to find the perfect bonnet for my big natural hair at my local beauty supply stores. I woke up for the umpteenth time to find my bonnet on the floor after having spent hours on my twist out the night before. Needless to say - I was fed up. Knowing what qualities I wanted to see in my bonnet, I scoured Atlanta for a bonnet that was big enough to contain my hair and sturdy enough to weather the storm of a good night’s sleep. Not finding what I needed in stores, I decided to take my search to one of my favorite places: the fabric store. Once there, I picked out the satin fabric that I would use to design and sew my first bonnet. Soon, I realized that many of my close friends were also struggling to find bonnets that met their needs in stores. It was then that the seed for The Bon Don was planted.
Creating The Bon Don was me taking a step toward being the change I wanted to see. The role of The Bonnet is so deeply meaningful to Black Women and it was important to me that we have access to Bonnets created by someone who just gets it. For many of us, The Bonnet serves as protection for not only our crowns, but also our sense of self and identity. Our hair allows us to express ourselves and when it’s done how we like it, we feel beautiful and more confident. In many ways, The Bonnet - while protecting our hair - acts as a security blanket for that inner beauty and confidence. When The Bonnet is on, we know that we are home and our hair is safe. It is for this reason that all products have been intentionally designed with love and attention to detail to best meet your hair’s (and your inner beauty’s) needs.
